This wonderful leafy vegetable is high in Calcium, Vitamin A and C, also rich source of Iron and chlorophyll, also low in calories and high in proteins .

    I am pretty sure that it is Malabaar Spinach. Basale in Kannada, Vaali in Konkani, “Mong Toi” or Vietnamese Spinach. Well..I am 90% sure. But the white buds are making me 10% unsure 🙂
    Am I right?

    its called chinese spinach and basale in kannada:) my fav green veggie:) love its sambar:) its also known as malbar spinach or mong toi:)
    so do i get the prize for guessing it padma?

    Dear Asha it is called malabar spinach or bachhali kura in telugu. BTW I have been trying to leave comments in ur blog but I don’t know the link not active. I loved all ur dishes.
